You Can’t Fix Stupid

My apologizes to Ron White.

“We didn’t all of a sudden get stupid as coaches” this comment that Coach Fulmer made last week still sticks in my mind. No Coach Fulmer, you didn’t suddenly get stupid overnight, it took you ten years. I have just spent two Saturday’s in a row traveling to watch the Vols play. I was at the Florida game and stayed almost to the very end. Yes, I was one of the boo-birds at the Florida game. My message wasn’t for the players – it was for Coach Fulmer and Mike Hamilton.

Mike, you’ve jacked the ticket prices up for me to sit in a cramped tiny spot with my knees in the back of the person in front of me while I get kicked in the back my people stumbling to get out. Coach Fulmer, you continue to put a less than stellar product on the field. I thought a team should get better from week to week but I was seeing more of the same, if anything I was seeing worse. The same OLD predictable play calling, with the same unfortunate results.

From where I sat – the view from section 62 row 27 seat 6 at Jordan-Hare Stadium

Since I started following the tweets from GoVolsXtra I’m reading more from the “experts” – I’m just a rambler that really knows nothing more about the game than what my life long Vols fan has taught me. I tend make my comments based observation of behaviors.

Some of my view of the game was obscured by Auburn fans directly in front of me, but one thing I saw rather clearly from my nose-bleed seat was Crompton staring down his intended receiver – he locks in, no pump fake, not finding the other open receivers, a true deer-in-the-headlights look. Maybe a sports psychologist needs to review the game footage, because someone sure needs to point out to Coach Fulmer that Crompton just doesn’t get it. It doesn’t take reviewing films to show the predictability of the “g-gun” either. At least a pass attempt was made this time.

Obviously, having Payton Manning on the sidelines, just wasn’t inspirational enough.
